Oscar Manguy asks ‘Who is Snoop-Dogg?’

Gotta woof in the park

On my beat, in the street

By the bank of the lake

Winding track, like a snake

Chase the rabbits with my bark

In the light, in the dark

Don’t let them dive

Down the hole

Without paying me a toll

Yeah it’s hard for me to track them

to catch them and to snatch them

It’s a Wonderland out there

in the open, frisky air

and my name it sure ain’t Alice

so don’t go thinkin’ I’ve been drinkin’

Of that literary stuff

And I ain’t got no intention

Of falling down a rabbit hole

It’s under my control you know,

The body only follows

where the nose gotta go

Gotta race, gotta chase

Gotta squeeze into that space

Gotta wiggle out again

Scrape my tummy now and then

It’s a blast, it’s a thrill

You can mock me if you will

But I’ll keep woofing in the park

On my beat, in the street

By the bank of the lake

Winding track, like a snake
